Shield
The module does not sufficiently limit the number of authentication attempts it will evaluate when an anonymous visitor repeatedly submits credentials. Anyone with no login could view restricted pages by guessing the password. They could not alter any information.
- Who could do thisAnyone visiting the site. No login needed.
- Does it apply to youThe configured credentials must be guessable and the module must be used as a supplementary barrier in front of a site.
- Has it been used in attacksNo sign of it.
- How urgentDrupal rates this moderately critical. Include it in your next routine update, within the month.

For developers: what the fix changed
The fix introduces flood control to limit the rate of failed authentication attempts in `src/ShieldMiddleware.php` by checking and registering attempts using the core flood service and returning a 429 response when the limit is exceeded.
Also in this release Added a configuration setting and user interface for flood control, along with corresponding tests.
